3 cours of technicla english AU

This course provides Master’s students in Territoires Urbains with the essential skills and methodological tools required to write a high-quality scientific paper. Through a combination of lectures, workshops, and guided peer-review sessions, students learn how to formulate a research question, structure an academic article, analyze and present data, and engage with existing scientific literature in urban studies.

The course covers the full writing process: from designing research objectives and building a theoretical framework to developing a clear argument, citing sources correctly, and responding to reviewers’ comments. Special emphasis is placed on clarity, rigor, and critical thinking, as well as on adapting writing to different scholarly audiences and journals in the field of urban and territorial studies.

By the end of the course, students will produce a complete draft of a scientific paper based on their own research project and will be prepared to submit work to an academic journal or conference.

Anglais technique

In an increasingly global academic and professional environment, mastering technical English has become an essential skill for every specialist in geomatics. This course in Technical English has been specifically designed for Master’s students in Geomatics, with the aim of providing them with the vocabulary, linguistic structures, and communication tools necessary for understanding, writing, and presenting scientific and technical content in English.

Beyond language learning, this module seeks to strengthen students’ ability to communicate effectively in professional contexts—writing reports, interpreting cartographic documents, reading scientific articles, and participating in conferences or international projects. The objective is to develop linguistic autonomy suited to the demands of the geomatics field and to foster openness to the global scientific community.

This course is both practical and contextualized, built around authentic materials drawn from scientific literature, GIS software, technical reports, and real-world case studies. It aims to combine linguistic accuracy with disciplinary relevance, enabling each student to master the communication tools that will support their academic and professional journey.
